1. Deputy Manager 

 

Ladybird Kindergarten is offering an outstanding, inspiring and dynamic EYFS practitioner/ teacher the opportunity to join our friendly team. 

 

Job Description:        Deputy Manager

Purpose of the job:  To contribute to the provision of a safe, high quality education and care for pre-school children

                                      To fulfil legal and statutory requirements

                                      To lead a team on a day to day basis

                                      To contribute and implement pre-school policies

                                      To deputise and take appropriate level of responsibilities in the absence of the Manager

Person specification:

Recognised Level 3 or above qualification in working with young children. 

Sound understanding of child development and of children's individual needs.

Ability to plan and implement a pre-school curriculum.

Commitment and understanding of diversity and equality.

Ability to work as an effective team member and own initiative

Satisfactory enhanced DBS check which confirms suitability to work with children.

Starting Date: 22 April 2025

2.Pre-School Practitioner, SEND experience an advantage, qualified to a level 3 Diploma or above in Early Years Childcare.

This position can be shared by two people to suit working hours.

Job Title:                 Pre-School Practitioner 

Responsible to:     Manager

Purpose of Job:      To assist the manager in the day to day running of the pre-school.

                                  To provide a stimulating and varied programme of play and learning opportunities.

                                  To ensure the safety and well-being of the children.

                                  To undertake a key worker role with specific children.

Main duties:

1.       To ensure high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained at all times.

2.       To ensure that any information received concerning the children is kept confidential at all times.

3.       To actively encourage children’s progress in all areas of development, types and stages of play, by interaction   

           and extension of play activities.

4.       To be responsible for keeping the individual record file for each of the children in the key worker group.

5.       To be involved in curriculum planning, policy writing and record keeping as requested and led by the   

           management.

6.       To attend staff meetings as requested.

7.       To attend training as requested.

8.       To support the work and beliefs of the pre-school by helping to create an environment that promotes open 

           and equal opportunities for children and adults.

9.       To work as part of a team and support colleagues.

10.     To encourage the participation and involvement of all parents of children attending the pre-school.

11.     To be flexible with the working practices of the pre-school.

12.     To be prepared to help when other areas of the pre-school may be short staffed, or with domestic duties or 

           other duties as specified by the pre-school.

 13.    To assist in setting up and clearing away of all activities and equipment when appropriate.

New Part-time position:  

​

          Hours: Monday 8.30 - 3.15 , Wednesday & Thursday 8.45 - 3.15, Tuesday & Friday 8.45 - 13.00 

        

         Shared hours could be : Monday 8.30 -12.30 am or 12.30 -3.15 pm

                                                     Wednesday &Thursday 8.45 - 12.30 or 12.30 -3.15

                                                     Tuesday 8.45 - 12.15 or Friday 8.45 - 1.00 pm

         We have easy access to a field situated behind the Village Hall where we can take children for long walks. Adjacent to

         the Setting is a Green which  we use for playing outdoors games, picnics and for annual Sports Day. 

         We have a secure all weather playground to take children out on a daily basis , where we practice free flow , which gives

          children the option to spend some of their time in- or outdoors.

          The premises are in a beautiful rural area, only 10 Minutes from the Brentwood High Street.
